Challenge/Problem 

SmileWhite were opening a new office in York which required connectivity on a very quick turnaround. No suitable, superfast broadband product was available; this, combined with the relatively unique factor of the building being Grade II Listed, presented an interesting challenge.  
 
Providing a superfast connectivity solution within tight timescales was paramount — SmileWhite had hired a full team for the new office and needed suitable connectivity within less than a week or the new staff wouldn’t be able to work.  

Solution 

Shortly after a call from SmileWhite, Optionbox attended site to complete a full site survey. We met with Sales Director Robin who outlined the requirements for the new office, and we provided an in-depth proposal for the new office the same day.  
 
With the tight timescales, we determined that a 5G solution would be the best way to provide stable connectivity. We also installed switches and cabling to offer an optimal experience — the team in the York office would be on voice and video calls continuously throughout the day, so needed wired connections to ensure minimal latency.  
 
We were flexible to the client’s requirements by completing the installation early morning of the office’s opening day. Following the installation of the network, Optionbox engineers remained on-site to ensure that everyone was able to work without issue.  

Result 

SmileWhite were able to operate at full efficiency from day one in the new York office. The timescales would have made it impossible to get a fixed superfast connection in, as the only option was a leased line with the usual lengthy lead time. 
 
With our 5G solution, they were able to work efficiently on the office’s opening day.
